Benoit Douchy
 

As his father was a musician, Benoît Douchy has always known an environment of music in his family.
He began the violine with Raymond d’Haeyer and went to the Conservatoire de Bruxelles in the class of Georges Octors. He specialized in Ancient Music at the Music School of La Haye with Sigiswald Kuijken.

In 1990, he joined the orchestra ‘La petite bande’.
Since then, he has taken part in numerous projects of Ancient Music: Les Musiciens du Louvre, les Talents lyriques, Le poême harmonique, Les follies françaises…
In 1995, he founded with others the Baroque Orchestra: ‘Les Agrémens’.

Benoît Douchy teaches chamber music at the Conservatoire de Mons and the Baroque violine at the Conservatoire de Bruxelles , where he leads the section of Ancient Music. He is regularly asked to take part in educational projects for Belgian and foreign Institutions.

Since 2004, he has been the artistic director of the International Seminar of Ancient Music in Namur, on request of the Centre of Choir Singing.

In 2007 he founded the non-profit Association Métamusique.
